Writing For Stage & Screen
With Chris Hoyle
Chris began writing some time ago after training
as an actor and spending several successful
years on stage and screen. His passion for words
has grown and he is now one of Manchester's
most recognised writers regularly writing for Take
Back as well as Superbia. Chris has worked with
MAP several times on Projects and his writing
was used in the MAP Rep Showcase. This is the
second writing course MAP have run with Chris
and in this years Manchester Fringe, two of the
pieces created on this 6 week block were brought
to fruition with runs at 53two, to great reviews.
The workshop takes place over 6 weeks and will take writers from conception, through development and story-building, to a piece that if not yet finished, will be in a place that the writer can take forward themselves and take to completion. The writers will be offered the chance to Showcase their work at 53two, in front of an audience to receive feedback and, most importantly, see their work on it's feet and being read by professional actors.
The group environment in which the classes take place will ensure a pooling of resources and ideas and a positive and supportive nature will mean that whether this is your first foray into writing or you're an old hand, it is the perfect place to expand and develop yourself and your work.
